Four Positions Open

 

1.   Substance Abuse Counselor

The Position: Substance Abuse Counselor
Responsibilities include completing individual assessments, intakes, and facilitating individual, group, and family counseling sessions at our Elgin location.

This individual will report to the Director of Clinical Services, who provides supervision to help obtain licensure for counselors and social workers.

Hours of Employment :
Optional four (4) days/week schedule available: M-Th - 11 am – 9 pm
Four and one-half (4 ½) day schedule is also available. (Working three (3) evenings per week required.)

Requirements for Substance Abuse Counselor :
  • Bachelors degree and certification (CADC).
  • Prefer Master’s degree and certification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of specific substance abuse counseling necessary.
  • Experience or interest in HIV counseling and testing preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required.

2. HIV Outreach Worker
Seeking part time outreach workers to do street outreach in northern cook county suburbs.

Responsibility of a

HIV Outreach worker include: Conducting HIV tests

Risk reduction counseling and referrals.

Requirements: Must be able to work late nights and weekends.
Must have transportation. Mileage paid. Experience working in the HIV/AIDS field highly desirable but not required. Great interpersonal skills and outgoing personality needed.
Preference will be given to Spanish speaking candidates.
Training will be provided.

3. Prevention Coordinator
Alcohol/drug prevention coordinator/counselor to provide curriculum-based drug education/prevention to primary middle-school and high school students.

Responsibility include:

  • Supervisor of staff
  • Grants management and direct service including class/group presentations

4. Employee Assistance Program Coordinator
Part-time EAP Coordinator for community-based non-profit. 
12-18 hours per week.

Responsibilities: 

  • Contract management
  • Direct Services including assessments, short-term counseling, referral
  • Workshop Presentations and employee orientations
  • Occasional on-call responsibilities
  • Supervision of other part-time staff
  • Short-term Counseling
  • Mental health and substance abuse assessments

Compensation:  $29.00 to $36.00 per hour, (base hourly rate). 

Additional compensation available for special evaluations/presentations and for obtaining contracts.

Requirements:

Qualifications: 

  • Masters degree and licensure. 
  • EAP experience necessary. 
  • SAP cerification a plus.
  • Experience in the mental health field.
